Can You Do Signs?

In December of 2010, In House Graphic Design was contacted by John Merrill, a consultant working with Sheldrake Point Winery, for some signage designs. The winery was developing a new Seneca Lake tasting room on 14 South near Hector, NY. The design concept was to mirror the existing sign at the main winery and tasting room at Sheldrake Point in Interlaken, NY, on the western shore of Cayuga Lake, including parking and directional signage.

What Else Can You Do?

Once the winery saw the sign drawings and got to know our process, they became interested in what other talents we had in our portfolio. They recognized that although they were well known in the Finger Lakes Wine region, their branding was not as strong as it should be, and together, we began work on that using their existing logo. The Studio soon worked on a marketing plan that included a mission statement, updating other off-site signage, a quarterly newsletter, a new website and hosting, and advertising design and management, all with a consistent look and feel that reflected the quality of the wine and winery experience. Soon to be followed by Sheldrake’s Beta Series label design and updates and printing management for all winery labels.

What Keeps It All Going and Consistent?

With so many projects occurring simultaneously, having an “In House Design” monthly meeting corresponding with Sheldrake’s monthly marketing meeting made sense. The sessions allowed us to review our progress on all current projects and strategize for future projects aligning with the marketing plan and those generated by Sheldrake’s marketing meetings. “The value of a trusting relationship between a creative agency and the businesses they serve is incredibly important. We have always felt we had that working with Sheldrake,” says Dennis Angelo, Creative Director at In House Graphic Design.

As promised, InHouse has provided us with the design discipline and proactive branding that we were so lacking before. From the re-designed web site, to our advertising, and to our signage and in-store materials, Teresa and Dennis coordinated all of our elements with classy creativity and stayed within budgets that have been well worth it. Going with InHouse was one of the best decisions we ever made.
