Flower Power

It Was Time to Update

When wholesale buyers’ interest in Garden Galleries’ live plant packaging started to wane, they contacted InHouse Design to help them with a design update. Their old packaging looked dated, and surrounding graphics overpowered the product imagery.

A Smart Layout Works for You

Our approach utilized the natural beauty and colors of the plants themselves to drive the design. “We produced a design concept that portrayed the plant close-up to show the impact of its color and beauty and as it grows naturally,” says Dennis Angelo, Creative Director at InHouse Design. “The new design gave consumers a feel for how the plant would eventually look and gave retailers options for display on the shelf.” We moved the detailed plant care instructions to the inside of the box and added a QR code linked to them; we bulleted the plant’s features like bloom size, growth characteristics, and the best-growing location creating a less crowded presentation.”

Eye-catching Results

Major retail buyers like Wegmans and Kroger took notice and placed orders. Wegmans was a breakthrough for Garden Galleries, and on a recent trip to the local Geneva, NY Wegmans, we took a photo of their products on display.
